There are two reasons for this:
1. Aromatic acids are stronger acids than the aliphatic acids. Since the benzene ring has -I effect, it causes stronger hydrogen bonds between molecules. This tend a close arrangement of molecules. So, the molecules are generally solid.
2. Aromatic acids are higher molecular weight compounds. Compounds with high molecular weight are solids.
