As we know that same pole reples and opposite poles attract . Then why freely suspended magnet have north pole and south pole directed in geometrical north and south pole???

    Freely suspended magnets align in the magnetic meridian. as we have two meridians magnetic and geographic median magnetic south is towards geographic north and magnetic north is towards geographic south hence magnets' north pole is towards geographic north.
