The scientist who disproved the vital force theory for the formation of organic compounds is Friedrich Wöhler.
The Vital Force Theory was given by Berzelius in 1809. It assumed that organic compounds are only formed in living cells and it is impossible to prepare them in laboratories.
Later a German Scientist Friedrich Wöhler proved this wrong when he prepared the organic compound Urea by heating the aqueous solution of two inorganic compounds.
Thus it was found that the organic compounds can be prepared in the laboratories and they do not occur only in plants and animals. Therefore, this theory was discarded.
