    He was imprisoned because when shah khan was sick that time his three sons were fighting for the throne I that battle shah jhan wanted dara shukoh his eldest son to win but unfortunately aurangzeb had won with the anger on his father that he supported dara shukoh he imprisoned his father in the same sick condition only but after some days shah jhan was recovering by the time he completely recover the powers went to the hand aurangzeb his son.
