Resonating structures are those structures which exist in nature these structure have charge on an particular atom as we see in hybrid there are partial double bond ,partial charges because of they are not stable over a particular atom and are integrating to surrounding atoms resonating structures for a compound are not single they are many in no. thus there is a need to form hybrid .

When more than one Lewis structure can be drawn, the molecule or ion is said to have resonance. The individual Lewis structures are termed contributing resonance structures. Resonance is a common feature of many molecules and ions of interest in organic chemistry.
