Education progress implied religious teaching alone could not give the required education. In 19th century historians termed this as "humanism". The term " humanism" was used for the masters taught grammar, rehotric , poetry, history and moral philosophy. 'Humanities' is derived from the latin word 'humanitas', which used by Roman lawyer and essayist Cicero in a comtemporary of Julius Ceasar to man culture.
