Explain any four merits of pipeline transport in India.

Merits of pipeline transport in India are the following.

(i) Pipelines are use to transport water in cities,big towns and industrial units.

(ii) There are also use in transporting petroleum products,crude oil,natural gas etc.

(iii) Solids can also be transported through pipelines when converted into slurry.

(iv) Pipelines are use to take out dirty water or sewer wastage from cities and towns to various destinations.
