Two measures taken by the Indian Constitution to check casteism include:
1. Abolition of untouchability has been embodied under Article 17 of the Constitution. Its practise has been declared as punishable offence.
2. To protect the interests of the SC's and ST's ,seats have been reserved for them in the educational institutions and in government jobs.Seats are also reserved for them in lok sabha, state assemblies and local bodies.
