The consumer redresssal process is becoming cumbersome because of the following reasons:
1.Many a time consumers are required to engage lawyers.
2. These cases require time for filing and attending court proceedings etc.
3.In most purchases cash memos are ot issued, hence evidence is not easy to gather. Moreover most purchases in the market are swmall retail sales.
4.The existing laws are also not very clear on the issue of compesation to consumers injured by defective products.
5. Besides this the enforcement of laws to protect workers is weak.
