Guard cells are kidney beans shaped cells surrounding stomata.Stomata are present on epidermis ,epidermal cells doesn't contains chloroplast but guard cells have good amount of chloroplast . Guard cells regulate the opening and closing of stomata to facilitate gas exchange and control transpiration in plants.
