Emission and absorption spectrums are two different ways of viewing light of acontinuous spectrum.Emission spectrums show the wavelength of light being expressedby superposing bright lines in the location where the corresponding wavelengths wouldbe on the continuous spectrum.Emission spectrums are essentially blacked out in alllocations except where light is being expressed.Absorption spectrums are the opposite ofemission spectrums. The entire continuous spectrum is visible when light is beingexpressed, but the wavelengths of light that are being expressed is represented by blacked out slits of their corresponding wavelength on the continuous spectrum.
