1. In western Himalayas people build , diversion channels like guls or kuls . 2. In arid and semi arid regions , agricultural fields were converted into rain fed storage structures . 3. These allowed the water to stand and moisten the soil like the khadins in jaisailmer and Johads in other parts of Rajasthan.
