It has high resistance when it is connected in parallel then equivalent resistance willbe very low ie a voltmeter of resistance 2000ohm when we calculate the equivalent resistance then 1/2000=very low in decimal as you can assume if it is connected in series the equivalent resistance be 2000ohm which is very high
