The electrical primittivity  is a quantity which is a measure of how much resistance the electric lines of force encounter while forming an electric field in a particular medium . It is denoted by ε. The permittivity of free space (a vacuum) is a physical constant equal to approximately 8.85 x 10-12 farad per meter (F/m).
