Four condition required for efficient exchange of gases of an organism : - i ) Large surface area over which exchange of gases can take place easily. ii) very fine and delicate surface for easy exchange of Oxygen and Carbon dioxide. iii) Placement of respiratory surface within the body for protection & hence special passages are present so that the air could easily enter and exit. iv) Mechanism for moving the air in & out of the respiratory surface where oxygen is absorbed.
