Geographical and ethnic variation : Balkan regions were modern days Romania, Bulgaria, Albania, Greece, Macedonia, Bosnia - Herzegovina, Slovenia, Serbian inhabitants were broadly called slaves. A large number of balkan regions were under the control of ottoman empire. Explosive region: The spread of ideas of romantic nationalism of balkans and disintegration of the ottoman empire made the region very explosive. Hope this will help you ☺️
