Mhatma Gandhi . Features of the Swaraj Flag: It was a tricolour, having red, green and white colours with a spinning wheel in the centre. The red colour signified Hindus, while the green colour signified Muslims. White colour signified peace. The spinning wheel represented Gandhian ideal of self help. Carrying the flag, holding it aloft, during marches became the symbol of defiance.
