Synapse is a junction point of the axon of preceeding neuron and dendrites of next neuron.the two neurons are not in direct contact with each other instead there is asmall microscopic gap between them. The impulses release some chemicals called neurotransmitterswhich travel through the gap and is acquired by the next neuron. Thos gap ensures unidirectional flow of information
