1) Sodium is a vry high reactive metal. 2) if it kept in opn it reacts with oxygen and explosive heat reaction occurs. 3) this reaction producs a large nmbr of heat and enrgy which may lead to loss...and dmage. 4) to prevnt such reaction we kept sodium in kerosine. 5) kerosene prevent oxygen to react with sodium.

Sodium and potassium are very reactive metals and and combine explosively with air as well as water. Hence, they catch fire if kept in open. Therefore, to prevent accidental fires and accidents, sodium is stored in kerosene oil.
