Metals-1. Metals are malleable that can be hammered into thin sheets. 2. They are ductile that can be drawn into wires. 3. Metals are good conductor of heat and electricity. 4. Metals are lustrous that they have Shiny appearance. 5. Metals are generally hard. 6. Metals have high tensile strength. 7. Metals are solid at room temperature except Mercury. 8. Metals have high melting and boiling point. 9. Metals generally have high density. 10. Metals are sonorous which can produce sound. Non metals-1. They are non malleable (oxygen, nitrogen, sulphur). 2. They are non ductile. 3. Non metals are bad conductor of heat and electricity. 4. Non metals and non lustrous. 5. They are soft except diamond. 6. They have low tensile strength. 7. Non metals are either solid or gas at room temperature except bromine. 8. Non metals have low melting and boiling point. 9. They have low density. 10. Non metals are non sonorous.
