Limitations of using per capita income as a development indicator:

Per capita income only gives an average income of the total population of the country, which includes earning population as well as non earning population.

Countries having less population might show more per capita income but the reality may be some thing different.

It is only a quantitative measure. It does not tell about the qualitative factors such as health, education, etc.
