Because it stops the growth of aquatic animals,it also disturbs ecological balance , it decreases fertility of soil, and its effect on social and environment so pepole oppose for the construction of dams

All people does not oppose the construction of dam but some people those who have to face a lot of problem due to construction of dam they oppose, there are many reasons to oppose 1. They become shelterless due to construction of dam , 2. It created a risk of flood near the dam area, 3. Shelterless people were not paid compensation etc....

People oppose dam because they are creating problems for the survival or that particular place and also decreases the fertility of soil.
