Advantages:- * It is used for electricity generation. * Used for irrigating fields. * It ckecks flood. * They help in inland navigation. * These are also used for fish breeding . Disadvantages:- * It retards the the natural flow of river water leading to poor sediment flow . * It affects aquatic life. * They also submerge land. * It affects the life of the people who are migrated.
