As we know Cos A × Cos B - Sin A × Sin B = Cos (A+B) Let π÷4-x = A and π÷4-y = B By applying above formula , we get Cos(π÷4 - x + π÷4 - y) By solving this, Cos[2π÷4 - (x+y)] = Cos[π÷2 - (x+y)] As Cos(π÷2 - theta) = Sin theta By applying this formula in our above equation , we get = Sin (x+y)
