Gomasthas were British workers whose work was to collect goods from weavers and supply them to britishers.As due to their increasing demands they were disappointed and new gomasthas were appointed from other towns . The new gomasthas punished the weavers due to delay in supply . So there were clashes between weavers and gomasthas.
