FEATURES OF BLACK SOIL ARE---------------->. 1.It is black in colour and is also known as regur soil. 2.It is good for the growth of cotton so it is known as black cotton soil. 3.It is rich in soil nutrients like calcium , carbonate,potash,lime and magnesium. 4.It is found in the region of plateaus of Maharashtra , Saurashtra , Malwa, chhattisgarh,madhya pradesh. 5.they are made up of lava flows.

  1. Black soils are made up of extremely fine ; clayey material
  2. They are well-known for their capacity to hold moisture
  3. They are rich in soil nutrients such as calcium carbonate, magnesium, potash and lime.
  4. They develop deep cracks during hot weather, which helps in the proper aeration of the soil.
  5. These soils are sticky  when wet and difficult to work on unless tilled immediatetly after the first shower or during pre-monsoon period.
