On the basis of his experimental observations, a German Physicist George Simon Ohm derived a relationship between electric current(I) and potential difference(V) in 1828. This relationship is known as OHM'S LAW and can be stated as follows :- " The current flowing through a conductor is directly proportional to the potential difference applied across its ends, provided the temperature and other physical conditions remain unchanged. " Thus, we can say V= RI, where R is the proportionality constant and is called as the 'resistance of the conductor'.
