The classification of the himalayas on the basis of region (from west to east) is as follows: 1 Punjab Himalayas : The part of Himalayas that lie between Indus and Satluj is called Punjab Himalayas. 2. Kumaon Himalaya - The part of Himalayas lying between Satluj and Kali rivers is known as Kumaon Himalayas. 3. Nepal Himalayas - The part of Himalayas that lie between the Kali and Tista rivers is called the Nepal Himalayas . 4. Assam Himalayas - The part lying between Tista and Dihang rivers is known as Assam Himalayas. 5. Purvanchal Himalyas. ( there's no such information given about the purvanchal himalayas in the ncert book)
