    x-y=1. x=1+y-----(1) 1/x - 1/y =1/6 ( y-x)/xy =1/6 xy=6y-6x-----(2) (1) in (2), y^2 +y= 6 y^2+y-6=0 Middle Term Splitting, y^2+3y-2y-6=0 y(y+3)-2(y+3)=0 (y-2)(y+3)=0 Therefore, y=2 or y=-3.
