Earth is called the blue planet because it is 75% covered with water but only 2.5% is fresh water of which only 1% is accessible.This 1% water is being wasted leading to scarcity of water.

Though the is covered by 3 4th of water all water resouces are not readily available for using as some are sea water some are stored as glaciers some are polluted and due to pollutin now a days rain water cannot also be used at a time as now adays rain which comes is acid rain due to addition of so2 and no2 released by industries

Because most of the water is impure (Ocean water or salty water) afew of 2.5% is only fresh water that can be used for daily purposes
