1.Out of the total population of srilanka about 74%are snihali speaking people. 2.Srilankan govt.passed an act in 1956 declaring snihali as the official language and Buddhism as the official religion. 3.According to the new act all the preference regarding education and job opportunity were given to snihali candidate. 4.Tamil speaking people were forbidden from any opportunity and roghts. 5.This majoritarianism in srilanka created conflict between srilankan govt.and tamil speaking people.Later on,it took the form of civil war.
