5 is rational number but root 2 we can write it 2 the power 1/2 .And we know that every power of rational number is whole number . So , this is not a rational number.

Here 5 is rational number but square root 2 is an irrational number . We know that when we multiple a rational number with an irrational number then answer is always irrational number
