Steps of construction:-

Draw a line segment BC of 5 cm.
At B, draw an angle of 90°
With centre B and radius 4 cm, draw an arc which intersects line of angle at A.
Join AC.
At B, draw {tex}\angle CBX{/tex} of any measure.
Starting from B, cut 5 equal parts on BX such that
BX₁ = X₁X₂ = X₂X₃ = X₃X₄ = X₄X₅
Join X₃C.
Through X₅, draw X₅Q || X₃C.
Through C, draw CA || QP
{tex}\therefore \triangle \mathrm { PBQ } \sim \triangle \mathrm { ABC }{/tex}
