In 1913,the nationalist PhanBoiChau wrote a play based on the lives of Trung sisters.Trung sisters had faught against Chinese domination in 39-43 CE.In this play of Phan Trung sisters were depicted as Patriots fighting to save the Vietnamese nation from the Chinese.After Phan's play the Trung sisters came to be idealised and glorified.

The trung sister were patriots who fought against the chines domination in 39 to 43 CE to save the vietnamese nation. They were depicted in painting, plays and novels as representing the intense patriotism and unshakable will of the vietnamese.
