Multi purpose projects some times leads ti the social movements in cases like the governments of Karnataka and AndhraPradesh raised a issue against Maharashtra government wen it planned ti raise the heightvof koyna dam as it effects the flow of water to the down streams or low lying areas. Same way even Narmada Bachavo andollan by an NGO organisation fr the submerge of natural flora and agricultural fields and also villages ...same way even the Tehri dam andolan also we can take as an example...
