KCN being ionic in nature have unequal distribution of electron b/w K and C .as a result C have extra lone pair of electron which it donate to alkyl part forming alkyl cyanide . whereas AgCN is covalent in nature due to which C does not have lone pair of electron . as a result N having a lone pair of electron donate it to alkyl part forming isocyanides
