The rise of growth in Indian nationalism was the response generated by the British government through the creation of a new institution, new opportunities and a new style allocation of resources as well as a worldwide upsurge of the concepts of nationalism initiated by the French revolution. The various factors responsible for the growth of modern nationalism are - 1. Motives behind the colonial interest. 2.Role of western thought and education. 3. Role of press and literature. 4. Role of socio-religious movement.
