put x = -8 in {tex}3x^2 + 5x - 4k = 0{/tex}
{tex}3(-8)^2 + 5(-8)-4k = 0 {/tex}
{tex}3(-8)^2 + 5(-8) - 4 k = 0{/tex}
192 - 40 - 4k = 0
152 = 4k
{tex}\Rightarrow{/tex} k = 28
{tex}\therefore{/tex} k = 28
