(i) Assimilation is using the absorbed materials. |
(i) Digestion is the process of breaking down of food by mechanical and chemical means. |
(ii) Assmilation is the delicate process where the nutrients must pass through the cellular membrane into your cells. |
(ii) It utilises several enzymes. It is a step-wise process occurring in stages in different parts of the alimentary canal.

(iii) Assimilation helps in utilising the digested food for obtaining energy, building up new tissues and repair of old. tissues. |
(iii) Digestion helps in breaking down complex food materials into simpler end products.
