Chandalas were the least group of people in which the hierarchical system of india was divided. These people had the duty of handling of corpses and dead animals. Use the discarded utensils, wear clothes of the dead and also iron ornaments. They were supposed to live outside of the village there touch and sight was considered as polluting by the people of upper class. These duties were laid by the manusmriti
