No, we don't agree with this statement because sustainable development is not a new area of knowledge this has been the main concern of leaders and thinker in the past . Gandhiji was very apt in voice his concern about resource conservation however , the term sustainable development is recently originated by the Brundtland commission report for this purpose.

Yes,sustainable development is a new area of knowledge because development should go on without damaging the environment.In future ,sustainable development is a only way of development .All our activity depend on nature only if we harm nature for satisfying our needs then it will harm ourself only ,so we can say that"sustainability of development is a new area of knowledge.
