x+y=5 ........... (i) 2x_3y=4 ........... (ii) now , We use elimination method to solve it So,multiply by 3 in eqn (i) 3x+3y=15 2x_3y=4 {adding both eqn} ............... 5x =19 x =19 5 now, Put the value of x in eqn (i) x+y=5 19+y=5 5 19+5y=25 5y=25_19 5y= 6 y= 6 5 Hence x=19 5 And y = 6 5
