When Louis became king king of France he found empty treasury . So he increased taxes. A single piece of bread would also cost very high. King was in a depth of 2 livres as lots of money was spent to help the Thirteen colonies of North America to become free from common enemy Britain. Also lots of money was spent in extra vacancy of Versailles show the king increased more taxes and the people were agitated
