Distance first =30km Speed first =40km/hr First time =Distance÷time =30÷40 =3/4 hr Distance second =30km Speed second = 20km/hr Second time =distance ÷speed =30÷20 =3/2hr Total distance =30km+30km =60km Total time =3/2+3/4 =9/4 hr Av. Speed =total distance÷total time = 60÷9/4 =240/9 km/hr
