The given equation is 4x2 - 4x + 1 = 0
Here a = 4, b = - 4, c= 1
{tex}\therefore D=b^2-4ac = (-4)^2-4(4)(1) = 16-16=0{/tex}
So, the given equation has equal roots
{tex}x = {-b \pm \sqrt{D} \over 2a} = {-(-4) \pm0 \over 2(4)}{/tex}
{tex}\implies x={4 \over 8}= {1 \over2}{/tex}
{tex}Hence,\, x={1 \over 2}, \,{1 \over 2}{/tex}are the required roots.
