Sue and Jonathan depicted great maturity and tolerance as they faced the crisis. Jonathan expressed his fearlessness and courage by saying the quoted text that marks the title of the story. Sue too exhibited her love and gratitude for her parents by making a greeting card. She had been strong enough not to bother her parents fighting the crisis by letting them know about her serious head injury.
