5x+7y=79. --------- (1) 7x+5y=77----------(2) Multiply eq1 by7 and eq 2 by 5 Then we get 35x+49y=553 --------------(3) And,35x+25y=385-------------(4) Subtracting eq 4from eq3 We get 24y=168 Then y=7 Putting the value of y in eq (1) We get 5x+49=79 5x=30 Then x=6 Hence y=7and x=6
