According to the question, side of the square = 12 cm
Radius of each arc drawn = 6 cm
We know that, Area of quadrant = {tex}\frac{1}{4} \pi r^2{/tex}
Area of one quadrant = {tex}\frac{1}{4} \pi 6^2 = 28.26{/tex}
Area of four quadrants = 4 {tex}\times{/tex} 28.26 = 113.04 cm2
Area of square ABCD = 12 {tex}\times{/tex} 12 = 144 cm2
Hence Area of shaded region {tex}= 144 - 113.04 = 30.96{/tex}cm2
