Let us assume that 3+root2 is rational. i.e 3+root2=p/q(p and q are rational no.) Now, 3+root2=p/q root2=(p-3q)/q Since,(p-3q)/q are rational no. Therefore root2 is also rational no. which is contradictory as we know root2 is irrational. Therefore,3+root2 is irrational. Proved....
