But only Mn and Mg reacts with HNo3 to liberate H2

As nitric acid is a weak oxidising agent which is not able to oxidize hydrogen from water. Nitric acid reduced itself to form oxides of nitrogen.

Hydrogen gas is not evolved when a metal reacts with nitric acid because HNO3 is a strong oxidizing agent. It oxidized the H2 produced to water itself gets reduced to any nitrogen oxide(N2O,NO,NO2 ).But magnesium and manganese react with very dilute HNO3 to evolve H2O. The rate of formation of bubbles was fastest in the case of magnesium. The reactivity series decreases in the order Mg>Al>Zn>
